Share the Good News

Jesus called us to “preach the Good News to all the world. Mark 16:15-16 says, “Then he said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.’” (CSB) The Gospel IS the Good News! The Good News that Jesus died, was buried, and was resurrected, and took our place to pay the death penalty for our sins.

Declare His glory, there is no better way than to share the Gospel with those around us. I use this blog and my Bible Journaling as an avenue to share what Jesus has done for us. I also am part of the worship team at my church, and I use my music to share what Jesus means to me. My husband is a literature evangelist. He shares through tracts and he has a website where he is writing a commentary on the book of Revelation. Some people go door to door and witness. There are so many different avenues in sharing, as many as there are people! It means telling people what Jesus has done for you.

I have a couple of friends who are missionaries, one to Papua New Guinea, (PNG) and the other is about ready to go back to Cameroon. My friend in PNG helps minister to the women in the village, helping them and their children, by showing the women how to sew, bake, and helping with medical issues, and they have set up a library for the children to learn to read. They minister to the widows in the village in so many ways. These are avenues that she and her husband use to tell them about Jesus. They travel between the city and the village ministering to the physical and spiritual needs of the people.

My other missionary friends are a family who ministers to the children of Cameroon. Here in the States, they are Children’s Pastors. They are using their talents with kids to tell them about Jesus as missionaries. They utilize different ways to reach the kids, everything from Sunday School material, illustrated sermons as different characters who explain Bible stories, to singing songs that talk about Jesus.

The Great Commission was given by Jesus. It is a command that He has given to us to fulfill. Acts 10:42 says, “And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead.” (ESV)

Someone explained it to me this way once. If you had the cure for a deadly disease, wouldn’t you want to share that cure with everyone around you? Well, we have the cure for Spiritual death, and that cure is Jesus Christ. We share good things like medicine and such because we love our friends and family. We should also share Jesus’ love and sacrifice for the same reason. Peter tells us in 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (KJV) God loves us so much that He wants a relationship with us, and it is our responsibility to share what Jesus has done with others so that they can have that relationship also.

As we look forward to Easter Sunday, invite someone to Easter Service with you. Give them the opportunity to hear the Good News. Talk with them about Jesus, pray with them and for them and their needs, let your light shine so that others will see Jesus in you. Share the Good News!
